/meta/language of choice

Being that this wiki represents a project to create a hackerspace in Oslo, the two options for language seems to be keeping the wiki in english or using norwegian. A third option would be keeping all content in both languages, but that seem to have way too much overhead to be practical.

Arguments in favor of english

  • Keeping our permanent digital records in english allows better collaboration with other hacker spaces.
  • Using english is in keeping with our goals of being an open organization, not discriminating people who are currently located in Oslo but do not speak norwegian, like exchange students and foreign workers.
  • English computer/hackish language is often easier to understand than Norwegian. So terms doesn't get mixed up.

Arguments in favor of Norwegian

  • Some hackers might not feel comfortable writing english?

  • I have no strong opinions on language, either is fine for the wiki --johan
  • I'm 100% Norwegian, but I want all my "computer" related stuff to be in English. 1 Vote for English in this wiki :) -- xeor
